„There is a deep deadly sadness growing inside of me…“

We‘ve just received the shocking news that Todd Serious, lead singer of The Rebel Spell, tragically lost his live on Saturday, march 7th 2015 in a rock climbing accident. Both generations of Fire and Flames have been honoured by working together with Todd and met him as a heartily and upright comrade. All of us were really looking forward to welcome him during The Rebel Spell’s european tour actually planned for next month… Although the punk scene has lost a great and expressive voice Todd will live on in his songs forever. We want to express our deepest sympathy to our comrades of The Rebel Spell, his friends in the Vancouver scene and beyond, his family and everyone else who misses this great guy in these minutes. *Fire and Flames Music

The Rebel Spell „Last Run“ Euro Tour April 2015

In april our friends of The Rebel Spell – fabulous fast and catchy political punkrock from Vancouver (Canada) – will come over to Europe again with their new album „Last Run“ on board. All you northern lights out there have two chances to join them: April 5th they will appear at the great „Just a little bit dangerous“-Fest at hansa48 in Kiel and the next day they will rock the still squatted LuftschlossfAbrik Flensburg on april 6th. Both gigs will be supported by our Gaarden brothers of Stumbling Pins, so there’s really no reason left to miss these nights of angry but affectionate high energy rock‘n'roll!

The Rebel Spell: At Antifee (Göttingen, Again!), CD Release, European Tour

In case you missed the Rebel Spell in Göttingen on Thursday, and in case you *again* missed them in Göttingen last Saturday, or of course if you did catch them and are wishing to see them once more…they will be playing this Friday at 16:30 at Göttingens „Antifee Festival.“ If you are elsewhere, you can see their remaining tourdates by clicking here. The CD, „A Beautiful Future“ can finally be ordered online, and will be delivered sometime next week.

Before we continue, for those of you with short attention spans, but also because the music, the lyrics, and the video to this song are all excellent, we suggest:

A Beautiful Future in Review…
„A Beautiful Future is the latest sarcastically titled album from Vancouver, BC punks the Rebel Spell and it packs a hell of a punch. Carried by a driving rhythm section, It’s A Beautiful Future is nearly unmatched in its enthusiasm and execution. The lyrics are passionately political, but never preachy or pretentious, but if you‘re a „the medium is the message“ listener, the songwriting is outstanding, making it easy to put the politics in the backseat. It’s A Beautiful Future never stagnates and that’s partly because songs like „Uncontrollable“ and „It Can‘t Just Be Me,“ which feature violin and piano, respectively, work to keep things different and interesting. It’s A Beautiful Future is punk at its most coherent. Whether you‘re protesting or skateboarding, or skateboarding to protest, the album is uncompromising and the strongest Canadian punk album since Supporting Caste, which is no small feat for a band that clearly wear Propagandhi’s influence on their sleeves. Our political future may be bleak, but with bands like the Rebel Spell, punk rock’s certainly isn‘t.“

About the Band…
„Coming out of the Vancouver punk scene and with an unmatched desire to tour, you could say The Rebel Spell are a beacon of hope in an otherwise mediocre and draining environment. With the ability to remind you why we should „fight to win,“ the band raises hopes and gives you a great vocal work out in the process. A band that truly paved their own path, from constantly self managing their tours, manufacturing and releasing their own cds, and even supporting their fellow peers in order to ensure a steady supply of quality punk rock in the scene.

Having previously released 2 full lengths and 1 E.P. (notably having Propagandhi’s record label „G7 Welcoming Committee “ digitally release 2 of them) the band now presents their 3rd full length „It’s A Beautiful Future,“ which takes aim at „the problems down the road that we aren‘t thinking about right now“ and provides 12 insightful and inciteful anthems that deal with, among other things, the watchful eyes of Big Brother, environmental apocalypse and the pervasive talons of garbage media. The album is about dystopia and it’s about dissidence. It’s about fighting to make the world a better place, now, and every song is an impassioned clarion call to action or despair.“

Göttingen, 2.6 / 4.6: Antifa Solikonzerte: Movement, Talco, Feine Sahne Fischfilet, No Te Va Gustar, …..

As the title says, two nights of good music for an even better cause!

If you need even more good reasons to visit, then we propose you use the opportunity to visit „Flaming Star“ the recently opened, collectively owned and operated, shop/gallery/meeting point right in Goettingen.

Last, but certainly not least, there is still the little problem of the planned Nazi demonstration on the 4th in Braunschweig. Fortunately, a bus will be headed in that direction from Goettingen with the aim of preventing said demonstration, infos here. Tickets of course available at „Flaming Star“ (and the Roter Buchladen!)

Unsere Solidarität Gegen Ihre Repression!
Fire and Flames Music and Clothing

----------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For those you planning on coming from other cities, we strongly suggest making use of the online „Vorverkauf“ option, which you can find here. All other informations regarding the concert you can see on the flyer image.

We look forward to seeing you all there!

Feine Sahne Fischfilet, Future Legends of Skapunk, from Rostock

Wasted Youth, Antifascist Streetpunk from Schwäbisch Gmund and the most recent addition to the Fire and Flames family. They will be preseting their new 7″ „Remembering Means Fighting.“

Göttingen, 2.6 / 4.6: Antifa Solikonzerte: Movement, Talco, Feine Sahne Fischfilet, No Te Va Gustar, …..

Niedersachsens „most significant left-wing extremist concert organizer“ (for the second year in a row, says the Verfassungschutz!) Fire and Flames presents you two evenings of musically diverse entertainment, and all for the good cause of supporting those faced with state repression in the aftermath of some very successful anti-Nazi activities of the recent months.

This is also why we took the very mature decision of not organizing a concert on the night of the 3rd, so that you can all get a good nights rest before heading to Braunschweig and handing the Nazis their next fiasco. After that, we again celebrate in Göttingen!

For those you planning on coming from other cities, we strongly suggest making use of the online „Vorverkauf“ option, which you can find here. All other informations regarding the concert you can see on the flyer image.

We look forward to seeing you all there!
