Fire and Flames

„Vengeance“ is an insurrectionary anarchist magazine from the West Coast of the US. Relatively controversial, partly because the author intends it that way, and partly because it is (correctly) viciously critical of a lot of the lifestylist crap that passes itself as „anarchism“ in large circles of the US „scene.“ Certainly not a read with which one needs to agree with completely (or even mostly) but certainly worth reading. Sometimes for the content, sometimes for the entertainment value, and sometimes just to enjoy the hyperbole and over the top slogans and imagery. Some of my favorites….

Vengeance Nr. 3…“What, are you gonna throw a vegan cupcake at me or some shit?“

Vengeance Nr. 3….“Make Total Destroy“ the classic of classic modern anarcho-crazed rioter quotes. Protecting the innocent, and especially the really damned guilty, means the story has to be told vaguely but…Almost 10 years ago, lots of crazed anarchists from lots of different countries discuss plans for next few days, mainly speaking in „ESL“ (English as a Second Language). After many hours of fruitless discussion, a comrade gets up and announces „Plan? What Plan? We Make Total Destroy this city, this is plan.“ Truer words were never spoken.
Except maybe about a year later: New country, new „event,“ similar circle of comrades. Event didnt really go as planned, some idiots criticized (very minor) damage to „their city.“ Same comrade from year before answers with „What city? If XXX (the summit in question) comes to my city….come to my city, make total destroy my city….Burn it to the ground!“
Politics with Passion, so many beautiful memories!
And the term „Make Total Destroy“ is still going strong…I even saw it on a shirt in the US several years ago.

Whoever has never sat at a meeting and felt like this has either a. not sat at enough meetings or b. is a born bureaucrat.

My suggestion…“old school“: Print it out, read it, relax.
