First and foremost….I think writing the pre-Racing game post is going to become my new religion. Since I started…3 games played, 3 games won. This time 2-1, even though it was 0-1 after 1 minute! Videos of yesterday are at the bottom of the post.
Im already worried about how to keep it up once I get healthy again and am not constantly in front of the computer. The last time I had this problem was 10 years ago, when I started parking my car on game days in front of Avellaneda offices of the Communist Party…and Racing started never losing home games. It lasted almost a year and got so bad that I could only go in my car, arrived hours early so as to be sure that the spot was free, and even once begged a mechanic to fix it before the weekend because otherwise „something terrible might happen.“
Back to the subject of yesterdays game….futbol is not futbol in Argentina unless some absurd incident of violence is related to it, and yesterday was no exception.
Briefly summarized: Newells` barrabravas were arriving in two buses to the stadium, when they encountered a group of about 20 motorcycle delivery guys who may or may not have insulted them. The Newells barras stopped the buses, and a fight ensued. Shots were fired and one motorcycle delivery guy was injured (not seriously). Several shops in the area also suffered some broken windows.
As you can imagine, there were no arrests.

The season is over for Racing, and begins early August again. But dont worry…Atlanta starts in two weeks, and there is also the relegation games coming up…which in Argentina means guaranteed scandals, violence, and maybe even some futbol playing.
