The government has declared a national emergency and on top of several concrete measures (schools are closed, judicial vacation, etc.) has suggested people avoid mass events. Of course, since Argentina is „special“ (and when I say „special“ I of course mean „stupid“) the last weekend of futbol games is going ahead as planned. The final proof that in Argentina futbol is more important than life or death.
What can we say about tonight? Neither team plays for anything in the short term, but it is for Racing important in the long run because…
a. we begin next season with a low average in regards to the relegation struggle.
b. we will probably end this season in 5th place, and if we continue to gather points and end the next tournament in a similar position, we could qualify for the next Copa Libertadores (!!!!!).
